- Need to mention "Open with external editor" option under files.
You are allowed three options - the third one defaults to "Irfanview" but the other two are wait for whatever you want.
I always have C:\Windows\System32\mspaint.exe as my first option, as it allows you to draw and overlay much more easily
In the past I have used Microsoft Gif Animator to pull out individual frames, add stuff, change timing, etc
Currently I have the Edge Browser as my second option so I can see what a pic looks like in a browser without having to use a site and upload.
I agree that it is not the best for viewing video BUT
your mention of VLC media player made me realize that is a perfect option for an "external editor" (downloading it as I type)
Now I can use Irfanview thumbnails to pick out a video, open it with Irfanview, and then delete if I don't want it or immediately transfer it to VLC if I decide to watch

- You suffer from an extreme case of CURSORITIS, the curse of many a well-intentioned tutorial. That little arrow flits and flutters all over the place uncontrollably, as it tries to follow the flit and flutter of your the random thoughts. You badly need a METHOD to your MADNESS. This makes it extremely difficult for your audience to follow your train of thought as it rattles around on your tracks. Anyone can read off all the stuff that is presented in the program. What is needed is a slow, precise, topic by topic progress down through the list. If needs be, cut the tutorial into sections and deal with it that way so that you do not try to cram everything into 10 minutes. Cardinal rule: 'Speak less, say more'. Don't drink coffee before you start!!
